As the results trickled in, BJP workers started celebrating outside Modern College where the party was having a private event. The jubilant BJP workers burst crackers, raised slogans, and distributed sweets.

“The party’s victory in four states is a clear indication of the anti-Congress wave across the nation. The victory also showed that the people have already accepted the leadership of party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi,” said BJP city chief Anil Shirole.

He added that the poor performance of the Congress party has already cleared the picture for the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls where the party would once again gain victory.

The results of the assembly elections held in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, and Chhattisgarh were declared yesterday in which the BJP secured an absolute majority in three states apart from Delhi, where it emerged as the single largest party.

Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party followers in the city held a huge rally at Alka Chowk following the party’s outstanding performance in Delhi.

“The many youngsters who participated in the rally yesterday campaigned for the party in Delhi and their efforts have secured victory for us, although we have decided to sit in the oppositionin Delhi,” said AAP national executive member, Subhash Ware.

He further added that the party would also try hard to bring about such a change in the political scenario in the state. u00a0
