Mark your presence at 'Drop Beats Not Bombs', where an American and an Iraqi music mixer take upon themselves the onus to give peace a chance

From all the battles ever fought, only the lesson of peace has been learnt. And who can value that better than Iraq and America, who have shared an extremely temperamental relationship for quite some time. However, as the winds turn into a breeze of brotherhood, two music spinners from Iraq and America Aaron James from New York and Mohammed Abood (DJ Mocity) from Baghdad getu00a0 ready to step in to the capital for a cross-cultural jugalbandi.

Partners in rhythm: DJ Aaron James (left) and Mohammed Abood

Music to the ears

The music will be a union of old school/new school hip-hop, classics, dancehall, reggae, club bangers and anthems, funky breaks, crunk, Baltimore gutter and dubstep. An amalgamation of hip-hop and house music will come alive in a relatively new genre of music called the Hip House.u00a0 "The concert is not anti-America or pro-Iraq, it is simply pro-humanity. War is never the solution to a state's political prejudices. The answer is peace, and that's how we intend to move ahead with our endeavour. That's why we wish to creatively work with organisations like Red Cross or WHO that help serve humanity," says Aaron James. At Drop Beats Not Bombs From New York to Baghdad, the two artists will be jointly playing 'positive music throughout the evening'. Live visuals, lyricists, surprise guests and art installations will support the deejay console.

Close and up

The merger of the artists is random but spiritually linked. When 37-year-old Aaron and 22-year-old Mohammed Abood met for the first time early this year, they knew they would transcend boundaries. It was then that the duo was formed. And when individuals connect in their souls, everything that follows is pure and poignant. So, it's worth it.
