Ours is a country that lives on movies and with celebrities having the entire country follow them, there are a few celebrities who take this following as a platform to create awareness, therefore becoming the Zookeepers of our country. Just like Antonina Zabinski in The Zookeeper's Wife who saved lives of 300 Jews from the wrath of Nazis during German invasion of Poland.


Here is a list of the 5 Zookeepers of India who have truly made a difference:


Dia Mirza – Environment Awareness, HIV Awareness, Animal Rights, Child Rights
The pretty actress has been involved with Cancer Patients Aid Association, Spastics Society of India, PETA and CRY. She also adopted two cheetah cubs at the Prince of Wales zoological park in Lucknow.

Shabana Azmi – Rural Development
Not only is she the master of her craft, she's closely associated with social causes as well. She works for a NGO called Mijwan named after a village in UP, where the actress has set up a school, college, computer centre and a sewing and chikankari centre which empowers people in eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Harish Iyer – Awareness against child sexual abuses
When you talk about the voice for the gays rights in India, we can talk about this name for sure, Harish Iyer, an activist and voice for numerous causes. He got famous for his campaigns for rights for LGBT community, children, women, animals and survivors of Child Sexual Abuse. He has educated people about the impact of this regressive decision through awareness campaigns.

Milind Soman – Cancer Awareness
Milind Soman is known to be the fittest actor, he is the brand ambassador of Pinkaton, India's biggest “women only” marathon which spreads awareness about women fitness and prevention of breast cancer, which holds a purpose of healthy lifestyle. Pinkatron raises money for the treatment of underprivileged women with cancer and has successfully been a savior to many lives. Milind Soman is known to be the Zookeeper of India truly with his dedication in fitness and social rescuer.

Rajshri Deshpande - Upliftment to underprivileged
Rajshri is extremely inclined towards social services, apart from her acting and dedicates her time to extensively helping others. She has adopted a village in Maharashtra called Pandhri Pimpalgaon and has conducted rainwater harvesting project, it helped the locals to bring back the life of the dead native river Bembla, a couple of people from the industry immensely supported her for this cause. Rescue Foundation. an NGO that not only rescues but rehabilitates and repatriate girls from human trafficking to name a few. Apart from this, sShe has been associated with organizations such as: Dharavi Dairy, Boodhnoor Vaidyashala, SOS papa, Beach O Beach, Plastics along with Juhi Chawla
