Who stunned us at red carpet events and award galas? Who disappointed us by stepping out in hideous, boring and unflattering outfits?

As we await new trends to unfold in 2016, here's looking at some Bollywood fashion hits and misses of this year:

Those Who Bored Us
Huma Qureshi

The basic rule of looking good is knowing what works for your body type and avoiding what doesn't. Huma seems to happily be doing the latter. With a face like hers, we'd imagine flowy pieces, jumpsuits and traditional wear doing the trick, but she's often seen in voluminous numbers which accentuate all the wrong bits.

Kriti Sanon

On her promotional tour, Kriti gave us a number of underwhelming numbers. Either the look was too cluttered or too mellowed down. She did redeem herself at a recent awards function, but the number of done-to-death appearances this year is much too high. She also made some cringe-worthy footwear choices in a bid to not look taller than her male co-stars.

Deepika Padukone

This was a bit of a surprise. With a figure and poise like hers, you can't really fault much, but she made quite a few unimpressive public appearances this year. For her promotional stint for a period drama, she either went overboard with all the bling or paired pieces that just didn't fit together. In fact, she has admitted that her personal style sense is boring.

The good thing about her is that she doesn't stop trying or seem to care about her detractors. Even though Sona has amped up her personal dressing, some of her sartorial choices have ended up being terribly misguided.

Those Who Floored Us
Alia Bhatt

She has turned out to be the surprise fashionista this year. Oscillating between a fun-loving teenager, to channeling her flirty vintage side, she has donned a bunch of fun looks for public events. A shout-out for playing around with volume and hairdos and giving her looks just a tad bit of edge and quirk.

Sonam Kapoor

Given her arresting public appearances lately, this girl has made us forget what 'safe' dressing is. Love her or hate her, but we definitely fall in the former category. Striking silhouettes, cut-outs, unusual hairdos, dramatic numbers and truckloads of grit, Sonam is probably one actress who isn't afraid to take risks.

Ranveer Singh

There's something appealing about his devil-may-care attitude, which speaks volumes about his grit and personal sense of style. From flaunting floral tuxedos to turning up at awards functions in pajamas, he's done it all this year. And we have become a fan of his sass.

Fawad Khan

Suits and tuxedos are the usual suspects in his wardrobe, but considering how good he looks in whatever he togs up in, we aren't complaining. Once in a while though, he gives us an interesting sartorial blend, by donning metallic blazers or coloured pants and lots of slim fits.
