A dog is a man’s best friend. Period. But as The Guide seems to be turning around the table and putting the spotlight on man, we ask, is the equation lopsided? If the answer is yes, a luxury couture website has devised a way for you to pamper (read bribe) your pooch.
Heads Up for Tails (HUFT) is a curious little venture by 30-year-old Rashi Narang who set up her kiosk at Select CityWalk Mall in New Delhi and housed snazzy dog products when she was all of 23.
Unsatisfied with what the market had on offer, she decided to carve out her niche by sourcing and manufacturing collars, beds, bowls, toys, food, apparel, grooming products and last but not the least, accessories.
After targeting the booming online retail market last year, Shreya Goenka, the Business Development Head at HUFT, tells us, “Our customers are from all parts of the country — Lucknow, Patna, Thiruvananthapuram, many from Bangalore and Chennai, and quite a few from Punjab as well.
But I can’t pinpoint that it is our base. It is all over. As our products are not readily available and we deal only in high-end luxury products, we definitely have a niche customer base.”
The wide array of brands — Rogz, Karlie, Skineeez, JW Pets — that hail from South Africa, Germany, US, offer something between trendy and regular. The Double Dynasty Diner (`1,999) is surely unheard of as it an innovative brainchild of HUFT and an absolute recommend for your dog and its partner.
Neckties, sherwani, berets and bows are innovative items that could give your pet a sophisticated touch. The demarcation of categories as per gender gained approval and the wide variety at the store (including deodorants and green tea-infused Dentastix) makes this website quite a click!
