Boys at university miss their mothers more while girls tend to enjoy their new-found freedom and opportunity to look after themselves, a new study has claimed. According to the study of 1,000 students, which was commissioned by National Express, nearly a third of the boys said that they would travel back home "just for a nice home-cooked meal." "Being independent and making new friends is an exciting part of university. But everyone needs home comforts at times," the Daily Express quoted Carly O'Donnell, of National Express as saying. "Almost half the students we spoke to were surprised by how much they missed home, with a quarter travelling back within their first two weeks. "A third said lack of money prevented them going home as often as they'd like," O'Donnell added.
