India's Sania Mirza climbed 11 spots to reach a career-high doubles ranking of 14 in the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) rankings, released yesterday.
Sania last week created history by becoming the first Indian woman to reach a Grand Slam doubles final.
She and Elena Vesnina of Russia reached the French Open final, where they lost to unseeded Czech pair Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka. The Indo-Russian pair are now No 3in doubles ranking.
The 24-year-old, who lost in the singles second round at Roland Garros, also took rapid strides in the singles by climbing 14 rungs to 58th place.
In the men's singles, India's Somdev Devvarman dropped a place to 67th place in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) ranking.
