Just as motorsport has its grid girls and NBA has its cheerleaders, the UFC has its Octagon Girls like Carly Baker who recently became UFC's first European Octagon Girl.
The London-based beauty has done some modeling besides featuring in music videos and ad films and plans to pursue a course in fitness and nutrition.
Saturday’s event at the Ericsson Globe Arena here was Baker’s maiden visit to Sweden.
So, what’s it like roaming around in skimpy clothes with those round number signboards with males screaming out to you and even whistling? “I’ve been a model all my life and that’s what I do, so I am extremely comfortable with it.
I think the fans here in Sweden are absolutely amazing. I’ve had no trouble with anyone so far,” the 26-year-old told MiD DAY. Baker is very excited about UFC’s plans to enter the Indian market.
“My friends have been to India and they keep telling me that it’s a beautiful place with so much culture, beaches and lovely food. I can’t wait to be in India,” added Baker, who has heard of the IPL and its cheergirls, but said she’s currently happy strutting her stuff for the UFC.
