A photo of the former Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal in which he looks frail and sickly has been doing rounds on the social media.
Chhagan Bhujbal before his jail days and after.
The photograph was clicked at Mumbai's St George's hospital.
The latest photo shows Bhujbal, slumped in a wheel chair with eyes closed. His white beard and moustache and unkempt hair shows a different picture of what he used to be. He has lost a considerable weight too.
Bhujbal, arrested in an alleged money laundering case was sent to Arthur road jail. On April 18, he was admitted to ICU in Mumbai's St. George hospital after he complained of severe chest pain and high blood pressure. Bhujbal, who initally complained of a toothache, was to be taken from jail to a dental hospital, but was then sent to St George's hospital where he complained of a chest pain and is now admitted.
An inquiry has been ordered into how Bhujbal landed in the wrong hospital.
Bhujbal is under the Enforcement Directorate (ED) scanner for alleged irregularities in awarding contracts during his tenure as the PWD minister. He also has charges of misappropriation of wealth against him. Bhujbal and his nephew Sameer — accused of money laundering — have been remanded to judicial custody till April 27.
