Stop thinking Twitter all the time; take some flights of fancy. A new sculpture exhibition in town showcases God's winged creatures in captivity and in vast open skies, linking their destiny to man, who, despite being free, is caged by his own creations and callousness.

On a wing and a prayer
Delhi-based artist Asurvedhu00a0u00a0 has played around with monuments, birds and humans in various life situations, emphasising human bonding with not only history, but contemporary surroundings.
The featuring of birds in almost all the works speaks about the artist's innate sensitivity and attraction towards nature. "I aspire to highlight the importance of birds in our lives. Whether it's the early morning chirping or just the joy of watching them fly, birds are slowly losing out on their identity due to global warming," he points out.
Theme team
Asurvedh has worked on various themes like The Omnipresent, which merges a human face with nature. Some other works like Journey and The Freedom illustrate birds brightening up an otherwise monotonous routine. It's perhaps the first show in stone where man, woman, monument and birds come in close proximity with each other. The birdie dance's worth it.
