Not quite what you would expect on Teacher's Day. A class X student allegedly attacked his 25-year-old teacher yesterday, thrashed her and slapped her on the cheeks after an argument inside school premises in RK Puram area of south Delhi.

The victim complained to the principal in this respect and also gave a written complaint. The police were called at around 1 pm. A senior police official said that an FIR under section 323/509 and 506 of IPC was lodged against the student. However, the accused managed to escape from the school premises and is still on the run.
The police said that the student was identified as Vishnu, a resident of Ambedkar Basti in south Delhi area.
"It was lunch time when the incident occurred. The victim, Neha (name changed on request) teaches Mathematics. She was reversing her car from a parking place inside the school premises when the accused student picked up an argument with her.
The teacher asked him to go back in class. This made the accused angry. He hurled abuses at her. The teacher got out of the car. The accused manhandled her, thrashed her and slapped her thrice on her cheeks. The accused then allegedly threatened her of dire consequences. The victim raised an alarm. Meanwhile, the accused fled from the scene," said a police official.
Neha then narrated the whole incident to a colleague who advised her to report the matter to the principal. "A police team was sent to the accused's home in Ambedkar Basti but he wasn't there. He will be arrested soon," said the police official. Meanwhile, a source said that the school authority might expel the accused for his behaviour.
