With an attempt to source the best in quality and design from brands, exporters, manufacturers and product designers, Amit Vadera, Gaurav Karan and Dinesh Vazirani joined hands to launch designdeal.com, a home products website that includes a gamut of stylized, quirky products including furniture, art, kitchen, bar, lighting and other home accessories.

“Our shared belief was that there is low availability of home products that are high on design, across the country; we felt that an online model would fill this void. People in India compete on price online. We will compete on design and quality at relatively attractive prices,” says Vadera. The trio also maintains that there is low penetration in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, where according to them, an online platform like designdeal.com will have significant reach.

The design website also offers something that they call the Taste Maker Sales, where a leading taste maker in the country, from a fashion designer, an interior designer or an architect will be invited to curate products for the site.

Fashion designer duo Gauri and Nainika will curate the first Taste Maker Sale. This apart, they will also follow the concept of flash sales: “The model is driven by limited period ‘flash’ sales. We will offer several sales on a daily and monthly basis,” informs Karan.
