With more than 6,000 automobiles parked at the railway station every day, commuters are asking for a larger and safer parking space for their vehicles

Railway commuters of the city do not feel safe leaving their two and four wheelers at the designated parking area of the station.

With more than 5,000 two-wheelers and 1,000 four-wheelers parked every day, passengers are demanding better infrastructure like sheds and fencing for the safety of their vehicles.

The parking attendants take Rs 20 for six hours for both two and four-wheelers and Rs 600 to issue a monthly pass.

The railway administration has recently given 600 sqm land to construct a new parking lot behind the state transport bus depot at the station.

Commuters are demanding that officials build sheds at the new parking space for daily travellers or create a multi-level parking system.
