Complaint against stalker cop

A city court on Thursday issued a notice to Delhi Police as to why action was not taken on a complaint against one of its officers who has been accused of stalking a woman.

The woman had approached Civil Lines police station alleging that one Inspector Rajpal Dabas had been stalking her for sometime. As the police didn't take any action for a month, the woman then approached the court under section 156/3 of IPC to lodge a FIR against the cop.

"The inspector had been following me for a long time. On November 4, I lodged a complaint at Civil Lines police station against him but no action was. Then I decided to move the court. On December 18, we approached Karkardooma Court,"u00a0u00a0 said the complainant Preeti (name changed).On Thursday, court issued a notice to SHO Civil Lines to file an Action Taken Report on the victim's complaint," said Rakhi Dubey, advocate of the victim.


Women's commission acts

The victim had lodged a complaint even with Delhi Commission for Women against the stalker cop. The Commission had summoned the cop but he didn't respond. Commission chief Barkha Singh then wrote to Police Commissioner to suspend Dabas and granted the next date of hearing for January 14h. Meanwhile, Dabas has been transferred to the Police Lines.
