Filmmaker Ravi Kapoor, who was allegedly threatened by gangster Ravi Pujari, is shaken, but determined

After allegedly receiving a death threat from gangster Ravi Pujari for his film World Cupp 2011, Kapoor is determined to release his film on schedule.

Kapoor received the threat call at around 6 pm yesterday. Pujari reportedly threatened to kill him within 24 hours for showing his wife carrying out cricket betting and other illegal activities in the film.

The conversation

Pujari called Kapoor twice. When the gangster identified himself during the first call, Kapoor hung up. Before he called again, Kapoor activated the recording mechanism.

Namesake: Ravi Kapoor andu00a0gangster Ravi Pujari

In the four-minute conversation, a copy of which is available with MiD DAY, the man who identifies himself as Pujari is heard saying, "Jaada shaana samajhta hain kya apne aap ko.

Kya daala yeh channel vagera main tu ke mera biwi betting karti hain, mera dhanda chalati hain.

Tera sar railway track pe rakh diya hai abhi, bas train aana baaki hai aur tera dhad katna baaki hai. Chhota Rajan ne bola tereko sab likhne ko.

Agle 24 ghantein main tujhe maar daalonga."

During the call, Pujari also ranted about the Mah-esh Bhatt shootout, which is "exposed" in the film.

Speaking to MiD DAY late last night, Kapoor said, "My film is based on the underworld and cricket nexus.

I have used the original names of gangsters. It also clarifies about the shootout on Mahesh Bhatt.

After I got the call from him [Pujari], I was shocked. I went to the Bandra Crime Branch and submitted a recording of the conversation.

I will meet the commissioner tomorrow, as Pujari has threatened that he won't let me release my movie."

He added, "The movie is set to be released on December 18. I am determined to see the movie released on schedule."

One constable has been assigned to protect Kapoor.
