Iowa: What would you do if you saw a man sitting on a billboard? Call the cops, right? Something similar happened on US Route 61, where a mannequin, which looked as though a man was jumping off a billboard, frightened drivers, who ended up calling 911.

The billboard read: ‘I can see Deery Toyota, Nissan, Mazda from here’. The advertisement, put up by owner Brad Deery’s West Burlington dealership, was taken down after high drama. “I am sad to remove it but it is in the interest of public safety,” said Deery, who owns 10 car dealerships in Iowa.

The sheriff in Des Moines County said it could distract drivers and some could even attempt to climb the sign and take a selfie. Deery said his business also took a lot of calls about the mannequin. “I like people talking about it. Hey, I’m in the business of selling cars. But it’s done too good a job, ” he added.
