Numbers are a universal language. They cross all boundaries and have no standard expression but can be expressed in countless ways and through countless symbols.

Every year on our birthday we are celebrating a number. To summarise this universal phenomenon, we need to first study the properties of every number and proceed to identify the same quality in ourselves.

Number 1
1 is alone; each one is unique yet its singular nature is common to all other units. It comes first before others and is the essential essence and the very basis for everything. It is primal and primitive, the necessary foundation and the fundamentals of life.

You have one body, one spine, one tongue and one nose. It is a totem to itself alone, lonely or solitary. Being number 1 the soul likes to be in a position of spokesperson but this is only possible for itself, no one else. The soul may move between co-dependence at one extreme and an inability to co-operate and compromise on the other.

Number 2
All dualities, differences and distances are empowered by 2. As the relation between 1 and 3, we will find that the 2 is caught in the problem of loyalty. Where should it direct itself? The duality of the 2 is often experienced as a suffering. The soul having apparently separated from its origin longs to know its true nature.

Number 3
3 is the end of duality and an unequal number. With 3 points or lines it is possible to make shape and therefore 3 is the number of patterns and closed shapes. It is in these structures and forms that many issues arise which develop into such things as habits, rules, regulations, roles and finding the shape of things as well as our place within them. 3 becomes a way of keeping two points together, like a pivot or a see-saw or the child within a family without whom the couple may separate.

Number 4
There is a double duality, 2+2, in the number 4, which means it can hold the tension of difference. 4 is the moment of awakening and decision. An appropriate form of neutrality and unbiased perspective in the fourth body captivates the confidence in others.

Number 5
Number 5 is half way to 10 and so it is considered as a number of threshold, the bridge, the communicative link, relationship and balance. The tendency to seek balance, which is a fundamental part of the fifth dimension, means becoming teachers as well as students of life.

Number 6
There is something secret and quite unknown about the number 6. Whether we call it fortune, chance, luck, destiny or grace, the implication is that the 6 is the number that brings us into the relationship to the unknown. An expression of the elementary awakening of this consciousness is to campaign for political and spiritual freedom for all people.

Number 7
The number 7 is a number of vision, form and structure. 7 is the number of structure and time is one of the things that gets structured by the 7 as well as by other numbers. A mathematical quality of 7 is its tendency to produce static patterns.

Number 8
8 is known as the number of the infinite. 8 is a number of return, the eternal return of infinity where eveything comes back to itself, where everything comes and goes. These people command great respect for they are both master and servant at one and the same time.

Number 9
9 suggests completion and the arrival home. To arrive at this state, we must first go through all the changes and be broken until there is nothing more to break. Being naturally in touch with certain non-visible principles it finds itself bewildered that everyone else is not.
