At least eight peacocks were found dead in Kakraiya village under Saurikh Police Station area in Kannauj district of Uttar Pradesh

At least eight peacocks were found dead in Kakraiya village under Saurikh Police Station area in Kannauj district of Uttar Pradesh.





The matter came to light when Kakraiya village residents spotted dogs eating peacock carcasses and reported the matter to police. The carcasses were then sent for post-mortem to ascertain the exact reason being peacocks' sudden deaths.

Villagers, however, suspected that either the peacocks have died of thirst as there is scarcity of water in the region or due to heat stroke.

Earlier, one peacock was found dead in Hisamuddin village under Thathia Police Station due to heat stroke.
