A staff member of the IT security solutions company Quick Heal Technologies Pvt Ltd has been arrested on charges of duping the organisation of Rs 1.24 crore by granting distributorship to two different firms founded by him in the name of his wife and other relations.
The accused has been identified as Pradeepkumar Laxmikant Dixit (41), a resident of Dorabjee Paradise society on NIBM road at Wanawadi, who was a general manager with the company.
QH’s account manager Shailesh Vasantrao Bancchod (31) lodged a complaint against Dixit at the Vishrambaug police station in this regard.
According to the complaint, Dixit had started Mind Flash Infotech Pvt Ltd and Yanava at Tilak Road and picked them as merchandisers.
The firms were registered in the names of his wife and other relatives.
Misusing the position awarded to him by QH, Dixit has allegedly duped his employers of Rs 1.24 crore since 2003.
Sub-inspector A C Manore from Vishrambaug police station said, “Dixit used to deal with various companies about distributorship. Taking undue advantage of his position, Dixit formed two firms, and later appointed them distributors for Quick Heal. But after finding a lot of money pending with some distributors, the company started investigating its records. During these inspections, they came to know about the whole swindle,” said Manore.
