Do you enjoy watching Maria Sharapova play? Do you wish you could be like here? If you are then there's good news for you.
Come September, and you could also enjoy her sweet taste of success. The Russian tennis star, who recently completed her career Grand Slam, is planning to bring out her own line of confectionery called "Sugarpova."
Sharapova, the world's highest paid female athlete, had announced the launch of the candy line last year, but after the delay the confectioneries are likely to hit stores just ahead of the 2012 US Open.
Sharapova, who regained her no 1 ranking in women's tennis during her French Open triumph, is very upbeat about the venture.
"I'm doing everything. The branding and all the shapes of the candy and the gummy-bears," she told CNN. "And it is going to launch before the U.S. Open (in September), fingers crossed, so that is my next project."
In an interview, the tennis star had once admitted that she had a guilty pleasure, that of enjoying candies. She's thus taking this pleasure of hers and hoping to make millions out of it. “It`s really fun, I have a huge sweet tooth and I thought why not do something that I`m really passionate about…”
'Sugarpova' will have gumballs shaped like tennis balls and gummy candies packaged in containers shaped like tennis-ball cans.
The 25-year old, who is has partnered up with Jeff Rubin for the project, is 100 per cent committed to it and visits the candy factory regularly. “I`m all about the details from the packaging to the actual candy,” she had said in an interview.
