International Business Times reported yesterday: "Maria Sharapova is still one of the hottest tennis players on the WTA tour, but an emerging star is already stealing some of the thunder from her."

It added: "The Wimbledon Open runner-up has recently appeared on the cover of Elle Quebec, and many analysts believed the Canadian darling is poised to grow her brand in the coming years, as she continues to gain success on the floor."

While Sharapova is now down to No 4, Serbia's Ana Ivanovic heads the hottest list, after garnering 36 per cent of the votes. Agnieszka Radwanska, who posed nude for ESPN Body last year, is in third position while Daniela Hantuchova is fifth.

Twenty-year-old Bouchard has appeared in all three Grand Slam semi-finals this year. Earlier this month, she lost the Wimbledon final to Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic in straight sets. Going by her determination, things could be different in London next year.

"I know I won't win every match but I want to be as good as I can be. This was a good experience and something I will learn from. I can hopefully use it to get better," she said after her loss.

But before that there is the vital US Open hard-court season. She withdrew from Citi Open in Washington, but is expected to be part of the Rogers Cup in Montreal. Hopefully, she'll be in the news for her on-field as well off-field forays.
