Imagine sinking into leather seats, resting your legs on comfort cushions and enjoying a movie in digital surround sound with a refreshing drink in hand. This is what most people look forward to after a day at work or a night of pub-hopping. Now, imagine doing all this in a luxury cab on your way to work or to that wild Saturday night party. This June onwards, R&B Cars will ensure your imagination takes the wheel, quite literally.

Rahul Tuljapurkar, 27, started R&B Cars as he wanted Mumbai's travel experience to be of "international standards". A complete Bandra boy, he studied at Stanislaus High School and MMK College. "When I was in college I would have given a limb to be able to take a girl out in a BMW," says this lover of cars. Now, he's giving others that opportunityu00a0-- a special date in a car of your dreams, and delicious gadgetry thrown in.
Started on June 1, his luxury car service allows you to rent class A cars for a price that will not burn a hole in your pocket. Sample this: "If you hire a BMW series 5 for a couple of hours you need to pay at least Rs 12,000 to Rs 15,000. R&B Cars' prices begin at Rs 4,000 for four hours," he says.
His current fleet includes a BMW and five Innovas and he has booked 14 other luxury cars. Tuljapurkar also has gadget obsession, and owns the android Motorola Xoom tablet, the iPad, and no less than six laptops. It's no wonder then that his cars reflect that obsession with the latest technology toou00a0-- each car has multiple media inputs, an AKG personal headset, mobile phone charger, first-aid kit, amplifiers, tube woofers, personal head screens and tablets. The BMW also has an iPad.
"In addition, cars can be customised according to need, from baby seats to Wi-Fi," says Tuljapurkar, who spent three months installing these systems in the cars. As if that's not enough, Tuljapurkar has also provided a credit card swiping machine in each car.
Of course, for Tuljapurkar, the safety of such a souped up machine would be foremost on his mind. "Safety is a priority. Every car has GPS. We receive a text message when the customer is picked or if driver is speeding," he says. R&B Cars now has plans of branching into SUVs. "I am here to stay," he says.
