Driver among 2 hurt after losing control over truck near Khandala

A truck carrying explosive material from the Dehu Road Ammunition Factory turned over on its side near Khandala on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway yesterday morning. Two people were injured in the accident.

The mishap caused a major traffic jam for about an hour and a crane had to be pressed into service to remove the truck from the road. According to the information given by the highway police, the accident took place after the driver lost control over the truck.

Truck driver Mahesh Pawar (50) and Kailas Choudhary (25), both residents of Dehu Road, were injured in the mishap.u00a0

A team of the Pune rural police and IRB rushed to the spot after learning of the accident.u00a0The police said the truck was going towards Mumbai from the Dehu Road Ammunition Factory.
