Fashion takes centrestage

With the opening of the ABIL Pune fashion week today, models will unveil new fashion trends and innovative designs created by talented fashion designers of the country

Fashion takes centrestage

The third season of the ABIL Pune fashion show 2012, which begins today will see creations by talented designers like Vikram Phadnis showcased alongside designs by young and talented designers.




An initiative by the top fashionistas of the fashion industry, the week hopes to encourage creative talent in the field.u00a0Many young designers have been mentored by designer Vikram Phadnis for the show.

“It’s always a pleasure encouraging and guiding young talent to get a foothold in the industry,” said Phadnis. He added that there is a lot of talent in this industry.

This is the third season of the ABIL fashion week and it promises a lot more glamour, glitterati and never-seen-before trends in the fashion industry. The fashion week will also position Pune on the fashion map of the country.

While talking about the city, Phadnis said that Pune is rapidly changing in terms of fashion and this change is really good. “Pune will soon be on the list of most fashionable cities of the country,” he adds.

The week-long fashion show is dedicated to the creativity of designers and will prove to be an effective platform for many young designers. Though Phadnis has mentored many young designers, when asked who has managed to create an impression on him, he refrains from naming anyone.



“Each one of them has worked really hard and I am really impressed by their dedication, sincerity, creativity and their love for designing,” he said.
Other designers who will be showcasing their designs at the fashion week include Swapnil Shinde, Samant Chauhan, Joy Mitra, Raakesh Agarwal, Malini Agarwalla, Payal Singhal, Surily Goel, Nivedita Saboo, Nitya Bajaj, Shraddha and Mayank, Ritika Bharwani, Babita Malkani, Adam Saaks, Anjalee and Arjun Kapoor and Sanjay Hingu.

ABIL Pune Fashion Week has partnered with ABIL (Avinash Bhosale Group) and Baramati Textile Park, thereby adding value to the event. In the presence of so many ace designers under one roof, the fashion week will offer a seamless display ofu00a0creativity and innovation for Pune’s fashionistas.
