Four held for IAS aspirant's murder

Southeast Delhi police have arrested four persons in connection with the murder case of an IAS aspirant who was kidnapped from Badarpur area and was found stabbed to death in New Ashok Nagar area a week ago.

Southeast Delhi police have arrested four persons in connection with the murder case of an IAS aspirant who was kidnapped from Badarpur area and was found stabbed to death in New Ashok Nagar area a week ago.
Police said that robbery was the motive behind the murder of the deceased, Amit Kumar who lived in Jia Sarai area.

"The accused were identified as Harish, Munesh, Satpal and Lalit. They had given a lift to the victim in their Santro car and tried to rob him. They stabbed the victim when he tried to raise an alarm and threw him out of the car in New Ashok Nagar area," said the police official.u00a0u00a0

The victim, Amit lived in a rented accommodation in Jia Sarai area of southeast Delhi.u00a0u00a0 He was preparing for IAS exams. On July 3 he had gone to meet three of his friends to give them some notes of study material. On the way back he took the Metro and got off at Nehru Place. He was waiting to catch a cab or bus to go to home when the assailants reached there travelling in a Santro car. They offered to drop Amit off and he accepted. On the way Amit resisted them when they tried to loot him. The culprits then stabbed him and dumped him near Hindon canal in New Ashok Nagar area.

On July 4, Rajesh Sharma, uncle of the deceased got an FIR of his kidnapping registered at Badarpur police station. Meanwhile, his body was found with stab wounds in New Ashok Nagar area.u00a0"The Santro car which was recovered from their possession was looted by them from Dhaula Kuan area," said the police official.u00a0
