Newbie Furqan Merchant is on cloud nine. His film Identity Card has bagged three awards at international film festivals.

He says, “I am so glad that my film is getting such a great response and bagging awards everywhere it’s being screened.” He adds, “The character I play in the film has more expressions than dialogues and that too with veteran actors like Saurabh Shukla, Brajendra Kala, Raghuvir Yadav among others.”
Furqan considers it the start of his journey in the film industry and wants to explore various facets of his acting prowess. “I am deeply inspired by Shah Rukh Khan and always wanted to act in an emotional film like Devdas.”
There’s also been a trend of biopics and Furqan seems to be bitten by the bug. “I would love to star in a biopic of a great personality. It’s exciting when such roles challenge you so much,” says Furqan.
Identity Card releases on August 29.
