Six people arrested during raids ahead of Diwali

They took a gamble and lost. Six people were arrested from south Delhi on Wednesday for betting on card games. The arrests came during raids routinely conducted by Delhi police at these times, with Diwali just round the corner.

A police officer said that around Rs 13000 in cash and playing cards have been seized from the culprits.
"We have arrested six people while a few managed to flee from the spot. Those arrested have been identified as Bhupal, Deepak, Sanjay, Samsad, Amarnath and Rinku. They were playing cards at Palika Bhavan in RK Puram area. We conducted a raid following a tip-off at around 10:30 pm and got arrested these gamblers," said a police official.

The officer said that the culprits were booked under the Gambling Act of the Delhi police and were later on released on bail.
