Shoaib Siddiqui's quickfire 125-ball double ton helped Rizvi Springfield pile up 474 against Chatrabhuj Narsee Memorial (Vile Parle) on Day One of the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) Giles Shield Elite Division boys U-14 inter-school cricket tournament at Cross Maidan yesterday.
The 13-year-old's knock was laced with 27 boundaries and seven sixes. Shoaib put on 198 runs with Saad Shaikh (34) for the eighth wicket while Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 104. In reply, the Vile Parle school were 14 for three in 10 overs at stumps.
Chatrabhuj Narsee's decision to field after winning the toss backfired as their bowlers Kunj Vora and Harshraj Arora were thrashed to all parts of the ground. Kunj and Harshraj gave away 95 and 101 runs respectively.
The only consolation for Harshraj was that he claimed four Rizvi wickets — Devadithyan Kumar (0), Ayaz Khan (0), Alsaad Shaikh (4) and Shreyansh Bogar (12).
