Girls galore in feast of fashion

Ladies love to lunch. Ladies also love to feast their eyes on fashion.

Well, as you soaked in the sight of the women's whirl on the front row (of course!) of the 2.30 p.m. show at Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2011 on Wednesday at the Grand Hyatt, Vakola.

Watching the models go by

It was Archana Kochhar's show and she managed to rope in all her lady friends to make that trip to the 'burbs, Mumbai slango (slang lingo) for suburbs (well, many of them stay in the 'burbs, anyway) in the sunny afternoon.

Making their presence felt was the tall (though she could appear taller had she been wearing stilettos) Yukta Mookhey, the dusky Diana Hayden, the ever-smiling Bhagyashree, the hair-all-in-their-proper place Ayesha Takia with her sister and mum, the heavily made-up Celina Jaitley, the sweet Parvathy Omanakuttan, the always cheerful Kunika Singh and Krishika Lulla and Queenie Singh. There were all there to cheer their favourite designer.

Of course, as showstopper there was one more lovely lady, Ankita Shorey shining in a digitally printed orange flowing halter gown with sequins cascading down the front. And, lest you think there were only ladies in the front row, there were also a few good men.

Like Mimoh Chakroborty, Arjan Bajwa and Siddharth Kannan (who was with his mum who flew down from Bangalore specially for the show).
