If you are looking to redecorate your home, the new furniture shop in Mukund Nagar, Ekbote, may be the answer to your prayers. The one-stop shop consists of four levels of wooden furniture display as well as showpieces, lampshades, mirrors and other accessories.
Ambience: The place looks more like a park than a furniture store. There are wooden benches placed outside and plants and pebbles strewn around to add to the garden effect. As you step inside, you spot the dining tables, consoles, bed sets, sofa sets, crockery units and mirrors. They even have an antique bike on the floor, a 1950s Norton model, though it is not for sale. You can even get a glimpse of how the furniture is made on the large LCD screen. The second floor has terracotta pieces, the third level has accessories while the fourth level has the sofa and dining sets.u00a0
USP: They specialise in solid wood furniture in combination with plywood and veneer. They also use Beech wood, which is imported from Europe and is polished with melamine. Ekbote offers knock-down furniture, which includes beds, dining tables and wardrobes that can be dismantled and re-assembled again.
We liked: A sofa-cum-bed (Rs 40,000) made of white chenille fabric and teamed with black and white cushions was striking, ideal if you are short on space. The single-piece leather chair in brown (Rs 42,700) had a pure leather finish and the high black and golden pins gave it an aristocratic look. The console in rosewood had an elephant head carved out of wood (Rs 61,229), with intrinsic detailing.
