Don't let your tresses go the limp way this monsoon, instead learn some tips and tricks to keep your hair looking gorgeous even during the rains

While some people in the city are using the rains to unwind over piping hot coffee and snacks, there are others who are doing all they can to tame their locks.

If you've woken up to a bad hair day more than three times this week, then you've certainly arrived at the right spot.

Smoothen those limp locks away as MiD DAY shows you how you can change the drab look and get a fab avatar in just one day.

The dull and gloomy monsoon brings with it a whole horde of beauty related problems.

Start with striking off 'managing my mane' from that long list of problems as the best thing you could do while sneaking away from the rain indoors is - experimenting with your look.

"Monsoon is the time when your hair demands most attention. Either you have frizzy halos or limp locks. To escape that, the best thing to do is to keep it simple.

A simple hair style will keep you groomed in an official setting and with a little tweaking, you can use the same style for parties as well," says Sundhar Ramamurthy, a consultant hair stylist.

The problem that most people tend to face during monsoons is of limp, unmanageable hair and how to tame their hair into a simply and flexible hairstyle.

Renowned hairstylist Shalika Kunwar feels that having fab hair not only completes your look but also pumps up your confidence.

"We tend to have more bad hair days during the monsoon. The easiest way to deal with such hair is by applying a leave in conditioner or cold drying your hair.

You should not use a hair dryer that is neither too strong nor too hot. People often are fighting their hair type. If you have straight or curly hair, then stick to it. Getting a hair spa too could be a good way to maintain hair," says Shalika.

The hairstylist also suggests three best looks - be it for an official set up, a party or an evening get together and a casual look. "Hairstyles are very attitude based, also a good positioning can transform your look. Tying your hair into a side pony can be a good official look.

You could also tie your hair into a soft bun, also a rolling it up with a clutch makes for a very versatile formal look. Crunching your hair and leaving it makes for a good casual look.

For a party however bring some bounce to your crown. Blow dry your hair or drop down a few fringes. Fringes soften your features and they are the single best way to reduce age from your face," explains Shalika.
