Kayaking club Goa Kayaking, in association with Goa Tourism, is set to conduct a special moonlight kayaking programme throughout this month

Tempted at the imagery of kayaking in the moonlight on the Zuari River in Goa? Goa Kayaking will organise such a rendezvous over a span of five days (from April 24 to 28). It will start from Cortalim Ferry Jetty and end at San Jacinto Island in approximately two hours from 9 pm to 11 pm.

The San Jacinto Island is situated in Mormugao Bay and is studded with numerous old houses. Visitors will also get to see plate corals underneath the crystal-clear waters of the Arabian Sea.

The dates have been chosen keeping in mind the full moon nights, which will be well-lit and thus perfect for midnight kayaking. There will be only one trip per day and participants will be limited to 12 per trip (costs R2,500 per person). Participants will be provided with equipment, flotation devices, kayaks, and paddles along with instruction sessions from experts.

The event is open to professionals and novices. The idea behind the activity is to encourage a spirit of adventure among Goans as well as tourists. This will be only the second time in the last two years that this activity is being conducted.
