Spain's Alvaro Quiros won the Dubai World Championship in style yesterday when he rolled in a long eagle putt on the 18th green of the Earth course at Jumeirah Golf Estate here to win by two shots.

But World No1 Luke Donald assured himself the lion's share of the plaudits after he became the new European No1 by winning the European Tour's Race to Dubai, becoming the first man to top the season money lists on both sides of the Atlantic. Donald landed third place at 16-under par 272.
