Victim registers rape case against doc she was romantically involved with, after his engagement to another girl; claims he beat her up
It was a fairytale romance for Alka (name changed), a third-year MBBS student of St George's College.
She was madly in love with Dr Rahul Samarpal Singh Deshwal (30), a doctor pursuing MD in orthopaedics at St George's Hospital, who promised her the stars and the moon.
When he promised to marry her, she believed it was for real. Taking advantage of her emotions, Rahul had sex with her for the last eight months.

Shoddy treatment
Alka registered a case of rape against Rahul at the MRA Marg police station on Monday. In her complaint, she told the police that she knew Rahul for a year and they had been in a relationship for eight months.
Recounting her horror, Alka said, Rahul called her to his hospital room with some books and spiked her drink eight months back.
She alleged that he raped her while she lay in a semi-conscious state. Alka said he promised her marriage and they had sex several times after that.
She also alleged that Rahul took pictures of her in a compromising position and recorded some clips.
Said Senior Inspector Sanjeev Kokil of MRA Marg police station, "Alka said Rahul promised to marry her, but he got engaged to someone else."

A source, who did not wish to be named, said, "Alka also told the police that Rahul used to beat her after having sex. He threatened her not to tell anyone about it."
Blackmail
Alka lived in the hope that Rahul would eventually marry her. But trouble began when she got to know of his engagement to a girl from the same profession who did not know of their relationship.

When Alka confronted him, Rahul threatened to circulate the photos and video clips.

The police have seized his laptop, pen drive and mobile and also sealed his room.

Charges
Rahul has been charged under section 328 of IPC for spiking Alka's drink to have sex, under Section 376 (d) for taking advantage of his official position and raping a girl in the hospital and under Section 292 (2) (C) for taking obscene pictures and threatening Alka with dire consequences.
