The President of India Pranab Mukherjee will be handing out the honours at the Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.
The Gangs of Wasseypur (GOW) star, who is presently shooting for her next film Abhishek Chaubey’s Dedh Ishqiya, has adjusted her shoot schedule accordingly for the event. After all, it was something that she would have not missed at any cost!
Says Huma, “When I got a call from the team at the Information and Broadcasting Ministry, I was both surprised and thrilled. Any kind of association with the National Awards, especially hosting, is a huge honour. And like any other citizen of the country, I am excited to meet the President.”
What’s also of significance for her is that the awards are held in New Delhi -- her hometown. So her folks are equally excited to see her on stage with the best of the film industry as well as the country’s bigwigs. Huma was apparently pencilled in for her ability to converse fluently in Hindi.
Huma is meanwhile in a tizzy deciding on what to wear for the big occasion. Among the winners from the Hindi film industry are Irrfan, Anu Kapoor and Huma’s GOW co-star Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
