French actor Gerard Depardieu insisted he's "not a monster" in his first live interview after he was thrown off a Paris to Dublin flight for urinating in front of fellow passengers.
No control: Gerard Depardieu
The 62-year-old film star said that he tried to go to the bathroom on the plane prior to takeoff, but the flight attendant "blocked the door with her foot".
Depardieu said he had to borrow an empty bottle from a friend to relieve himself, but added that it was not large enough.
"The bottle was too small, you know. I am an elephant... I said, 'Don't worry, I will clean it up'," he said.
Depardieu said he tried to get the flight attendant to allow him to use the bathroom, but she refused. "I say, 'Madam, I have a lot of pee. I have to go pee.
It hurts me. I'm not sick, I'm not a terrorist, I just want to pee'," he said. I'm not a monster. I'm just a man who wants to pee... I don't understand why she blocked the door."
Depardieu was thrown off the plane in the August16 incident. The pilots taxied back to the terminal and the film star was taken off the plane by ground crew.
