It was due to their friendship, that Anurag Kashyap agreed to do a role in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s cop film Shagird last year with Nana Patekar. And now it’s payback time.
Anurag has cast Tigmanshu in his most ambitious project that was selected for Cannes this year. It was apparently the physical built of Tigmanshu, who is an NSD graduate, that made Anurag rope him in as Suryadeo Singh, the mafia lord of Dhanbad. Anurag jokingly quips, “I will not do what Tishu (Tigmanshu) sir did to me. I have given him the most important role in the film!”
