"It is terrible to lose this way." Parupalli Kashyap was clearly not happy with the way things panned out at the Siri Fort Badminton Complex here yesterday.

The Pullela Gopichand prot ufffdg ufffd felt he was robbed of a glorious chance to enter his first-ever Commonwealth Games final after an error by a line judge in the decider. Kashyap led 11-6 in the final game, but did not exploit it and allowed England's Rajiv Ouseph to get back in the game. The line call at 18-18 had a major impact on Kashyap's fate.

"I was robbed of a place in the final. The shuttle was clearly out at 18-18 in the deciding game and the chair umpire could have ruled it out since the line judge made a horrendous mistake. I could have been serving at 19-18, but my dream was shattered. It would not have mattered so much had Ouseph won the point on his own," said a fuming Kashyap after his 21-19, 12-21, 19-21 semi-final loss against the Englishman.

Coach Gopichand, however, wants Kashyap to take things in his stride and not lose focus. "He has to take these things in his stride. It was quite evident in the slow motion replay that the shot was out," he said.

Meanwhile, Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponappa smashed their way into the women's doubles final defeating Wilson Smith/Tang of Australia. As expected, Saina Nehwal defeated Susan Egelstaff of Scotland in two straight games, 21-10, 21-17.u00a0
