The 4th Annual Vinod Doshi Memorial Theatre Festival, which is one of the most awaited and prestigious festivals in the city, is back with a latest power-packed edition featuring a mix of Marathi and Hindi plays. The event has been organised in the honour of late Chairman Vinod Doshi to celebrate his passion for theatre.
His wife, Saryu Doshi, reminisces, "My husband was very interested in experimental theatre. After returning from the US, his passion for this genre took a new turn and we actively started working in the Marathi theatre circuit and got involved in the theatre movement."
The plays that will be staged during the festival include Stories In A Song (Hindi) directed by Sunil Shanbag, Preth (Hindi) directed by Gopal Dutt and Purva Naresh, Aalbel (Marathi) directed by Sai Paranjape, Bandhlelyachi Manogata (Marathi) directed by Praveen Bhole and Comrade Kumbhakarna (Hindi) directed by Mohit Takalkar.

The theme of the festival is humanity and all the plays deal with Indian art and politics. One of the plays -- Bandhlelyachi Manogata -- deals with the implementation of Greek mythology in India. Most of the plays will be performed for the first time in Pune.
