WHAT's ON dropped in at a new eatery in Chembur, and is in no hurry to visit again
The name Inde Green may fill you with a sense of mystery and you start imagining a sort of Shangri-La greenery amid the concrete jungle of Mumbai. Our flight of fancy was dashed, however, when we found the eatery standing on a main road with vehicles passing by ever so often and not much greenery either! The manager curtly explained that the name stands for the Indian vegetarian food dished out at the eatery.

Inde Green offers dishes ranging from South Indian to Chinese, as well as the typical thalis, ice creams and juices variety.
We tried: The Mysore Masala Dosa (Rs 35) was average and the filling was bland. However, we liked the Inde Green Club Sandwich (Rs 44), which was stuffed with cheese, pomegranate seeds and pineapple slices. The Vegetable Cutlets (Rs 35) would have been better without the beans. The Hot Coffee (Rs 55) left us wanting more, but the Strawberry Milkshake (Rs 48) tasted a lot like cough syrup.
Ambience: The place is done up in green, the chairs sport a green border and even the walls are decorated in the same shade. One of the walls is splashed with caricatures of Mumbai. There is also the option of outdoor seating for those who want a view of vehicles whizzing by.u00a0u00a0
Service: The waiters are polite and helpful. They probably had no choice as the place was completely vacant, except for us. To sum up, the food could be better, for the kind of money we were made to dole out.u00a0
