India's poor batting display frustrates SCG spectators

Cricket fans at the Sydney Cricket Ground were annoyed and frustrated at the diabolical performance of the Indian batsmen yesterday. "We keep making the same mistakes. We just can't cope with the bounce. I think it's going to be 0-4 again," said Hardeep Phull, an annoyed India fan.

Swami Army member Baljeet Toki said: "They should just drop Laxman and Gambhir. They can't just keep picking people on reputation."u00a0Saurab Datar, who was also present in Melbourne, wanted to see the infusion of young blood. "I don't mind if we lose the series 0-4 with youth. But with an experienced team, it's embarrassing."

Australian supporters were left disappointed too. Nigel Bowbridge said: "I wanted to watch Tendulkar get his 100th hundred at SCG. It's something you could have told your grandkids about".

Bounce factor
Jason Thomas, who has watched nearly 30 Tests at the SCG, said: "We saw a poor bowling line-up and flat wickets in the last two India vs Australia series here. This time, there is something in the wickets and suddenly, the batting doesn't look so formidable.

"The wickets have bounce and movement which the Indian batsman don't like. Apart from Dravid and Tendulkar, they were always going to fail in my book." Amit Chitnis expressed his disappointment in a different way: "I took more photographs today than the Indian team total. We will leave it at that."
