EVERGREEN ON THE bag: Amrita Rao attended the special screening of Jewel Thief, which was a tribute to Dev Anand for his outstanding contribution to Hindi cinema, at a Colaba cinema recently.

As a token of remembrance, she got her brand new Versace bag autographed by Devsaab himself. This bag has now become Amrita's prized possession.

WILD CALL

Mika, Chitrashi Rawat (Chake De! India, Luck) and telly actor Jay Bhanushali now enter Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao. Their appearance on the reality show today takes the other contestants unawares.

The trio find themselves hanging mid-air as part of their welcome and later dumped into a cage with the other participants being asked to bail them out.

With Ishq Bector, Fiza, Shweta Tiwari and Palak out of the show, there is now room for more folk and their dramabaazi.

The Movies I Loved Growing Up

The New York director lists his pick of flicks...

BOBBY: This was the first Hindi film I watched in the theatre. I was about five years old, but the experience of watching Bobby is glued to my memory. My mom would take me to the theatre and we would watch movies. I still remember watching the beautiful Dimple Kapadia on screen.

SHOLAY:
This was the movie that changed me. It completely blew me away. Everything from the dialogues, to the acting and the music was just amazing. I remember being in school when I watched it. Gabbar Singh was such a huge hit and till date, is one of the most legendary characters of our movie. Just like everyone else in this country, Sholay is one of my all-time favourite films.

Chashme Buddoor
It reminds of my days in Hyderabad when I would step out with my cousin to watch movies. Even today, when I sit down and watch it, I recall those days.

JAANE BHI DO YAARON
It was so entertaining and this film also reminds me of my days in Hyderabad.

JUNOON
This was a film that has influenced my style of filmmaking. Set against the backdrop of 1857, the film has made a mark on my mind. It was a political thriller made superbly and with a really good plot. I can say that both Kabul Express and New York had influences of Junoon in them.

Crush Hush

Sonam Kapoor has a secret crush on a B-Town actor. Reveals a source close to the actress, "Sonam is single and is unable to find her type of guy.

But she has a big crush on Imran Khan. She was heard sarcastically observing that his girlfriend Avantika Malik scans each and every act of his."

Meanwhile Sonam is quite excited to work with Imran in Dharma Production's next I Hate Luv Storys, directed by debutant Punit Malhotra (nephew of Manish Malhotra). Avantika, are you listening?

Hum bhi hai

Ajay Devgan has enrolled himself as part of the Mumbai's voter ID drive initiated by Yuva Foundation chairman Sanjeev Kalle.

The actor, who is also the Goodwill Ambassador for the Yuva Foundation of Mumbai, says, "This is a welcome initiative by Yuva Foundation to bring the drive to people's doorsteps.

I urge Mumbaikars to come forward to utilise this opportunity and enrol themselves and get their voter ID cards. These cards could become mandatory in the future and hence this is an excellent opportunity to get them registered."

Sonu's New Joy

Sonu Sood has got himself a pup and he calls him Teddy. The actor always wanted a pet, but was waiting for the right opportunity. When this cute little monster came his way, he could not say no and brought him home.

Right now, Teddy is in Sonu's native place in Moga with his father (the man calls him Snowy because of his white fur).

He says, "Teddy has become an important part of our lives. When my friend showed me Teddy, I just knew that he had to come to my house. He is such a beautiful dog and is mischievous too."

HIGH FIVE!

Raza's Bollywood enters its fifth year today. The actor, who is known for his witty one-liners, is overwhelmed with the response he receives via email from abroad especially from the Gulf countries.

Raza Murad's favourite B-Town folk seem to be Mallika Sherawat and Ekta Kapoor considering the number of times he writes about them! "I just want people to know that it's all in good humour and no offence is meant to anyone," says Raza.

RAZA'S BOLLYWOOD
What would be the name of an avtaar gill film wherein he plays the title role of a lunatic?
