A small, but extremely tricky seven-race card is framed for Thursday at Mahalaxmi. Caution is advised as many likely favourites, who look robust on paper, may bite the dust on the racetrack. Besides, there could be many horses with a hidden agenda to strike at lucrative odds.
Be that as it may, the feature event, the Super Brave Double Stakes, looks a tailor-made race for Jefferson at first glance, and may turn out to be so in all probability. The betting market may slot Ostwind as second favourite, and hence a likely challenger to Jefferson, however, I feel Jefferson and his jockey Dashrath Singh will need to be more watchful of Kandinsky (PS Chouhan up), as the Vishal Gaekwad trainee may have come up substantially after his last winning effort.
There could be a close finish involving more than two runners in the Priceless Plate for class IV horses, and Stardom Calling should definitely be one of them. With little luck, the Cooji Katrak-trained filly should be able to narrowly prevail over rivals, and accordingly, shapes as a chance bet.
