Kandivili girl hospitalised with swine flu symptoms

A 12-year-old girl from Kandivili, was admitted to Kasturba Hospital, with symptoms of swine flu. The test reports are expected by today evening.

A 12-year-old girl from Kandivili, was admitted to Kasturba Hospital, with symptoms of swine flu. The test reports are expected by today evening.


The girl, a resident of Bhopal, had gone for a weeklong trip to Thailand with her family. She was diagnosed with fever and cough during screening at Mumbai's international airport on Monday. Her throat swabs had been sent to the National Institute of Virology for testing, said, Dr. Jairaj Thanekar, joint executive health officer.


Thirty people in India have been diagnosed with A/H1N1 virus, with no cases reported from Mumbai so far. 22 people suspected to be infected tested negative in the city.
