Kunal Kapoor has been missing from the big screen for a while now. The actor, however, has been keeping himself busy attending theatre workshops among other things.
"When I am in between films, I keep myself occupied attending acting workshops," he says. The Rang De Basanti actor recently attended Neeraj Kabi's acting laboratory at Oshiwara.
"He is brilliant," he exclaims. "I had attended his workshops earlier too and will also enroll for his next in February."u00a0 Kabi is a theatre actor, director and is considered an expert with workshops. His theatre troupe Pravah functions as a theatre laboratory for performance, training and research.
Explains Kunal, "It is important for an actor to gain new insights which Neeraj has given me. I have learnt tremendously under him."
Even though he is a star, it does not bother him to be amidst newbies and attendu00a0 workshops. "In fact, attending such stuff gets tougher. People around assume that as you are already an actor, you have to be really good. So you have to be really, really good!"
The actor has been part of acting workshops conducted by Barry John and Anupam Kher earlier. He had started off as part of Naseeruddin Shah's Motley Theatre troupe and was part of his play, The Prophet.
But Kunal does not want to do theatre at this juncture. "Once you say yes to a play, you are committed and there is the travelling part, it is then difficult to back out if you have a film coming your way," he explains.
The actor will next be seen in films like Lamhaa and Chamkila.
