Lata Mangeshkar has joined an elite list of celebs who have fallen victim to an internet hoax with social networking sites being abuzz with rumours about the legendary singer's demise doing the rounds on Tuesday
Even as Bollywood and the world was mourning the loss of legendary actress Nanda, there were reports on Tuesday evening suggesting 'Nightingale of India' had passed away due to cardiac arrest.
But, thankfully, the reports were false and legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar had just become the latest celebrity to become the victim of online death hoax.
Within hours of yesteryear actress Nanda's death, rumours of 84-year-old Lata Mangeshkar having suffered a heart attack and died gained traction and twitterati started tweeting "RIP" messages to the singer.
The singer immediately took to Twitter to dismiss the rumours of her demise.
Bollywood filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar also took to Twitter to announce that Lata Mangeshkar was 'hale and hearty'.
