The Left parties, TDP and TRS are likely to finalise their seat-sharing arrangement in Andhra Pradesh within 10 days, a senior CPI(M) leader said on Thursday.

CPI(M) Politburo member and Andhra state Secretary B V Raghuvulu said the parties were holding discussions to reach a consensus on the issue.

"We are hoping to finish the seat-sharing process in Andhra by next week or may be within ten days," Raghuvulu told reporters after meeting CPI(M) General Secretary Prakash Karat here along with TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and his TRS counterpart K Chandrasekhar Reddy.

However, both Reddy and Raghuvulu denied that they discussed the seat-sharing arrangement in the state during the 30-minute meeting at AKG Bhavan, the CPI(M) headquarters.

"Seat sharing will be done on state level. We were here to brief Karat about Andhra Chief Minister Y S Rajashekhara Reddy's corrupt rule and our efforts to unravel it," Naidu said.

Raghuvulu said they briefed Karat about the "malpractices" perpetuated by the Chief Minister to amass wealth. The leaders alleged that Reddy's family floated a network of companies into which money earned through corrupt means was invested.
