Let the battle begin
Whether you grew up in the ’90s, where you played on 16-bit home video game consoles or have access to the latest gaming consoles like Play Station or XBox in the first decade of the 21st century, Mortal Kombat would have always been around. The popular arcade game, which was given a reboot in 2011, recently released a new sequel, Mortal Kombat X.
Now, celebrating the return of this popular combat game, the makers have organised a special Mortal Kombat championship, Mortal Kombat X Cup, which will be held in France. The championship will see Mortal Kombat players competing against each other to prove their prowess over the new sequel of the popular video game.
As for Indian gamers who wish to participate in the global championship, they can participate in the India qualifiers scheduled to take place this week on May 2 and 3 at the Oberoi Mall, Goregaon (E).
The qualifying round, organised by Warner Bros and E-xpress, Games is open to gamers as well as non-gamers, and will be conducted in a Konckout format where Mortal Kombat X players will be battling each other to win a berth in the Grand Finale in France.
The winner of the India qualifiers will get to go to Paris to participate in the Grand Finale, scheduled to take place on July 4 and 5. The winner will also get a cash prize of Rs 20,000, whereas, the runner-up will receive a cash prize of R7,500 and the third-place winner will get a cash prize of Rs 2,500.
