Mumbaikars will no longer be able to enjoy the aroma of freshly baked Parle biscuits while passing through Vile Parle station as the landmark Parle biscuit factory has shut shop, joining a growing list of famous places in the city that have lost the race against time.

In the last few years, it is believed, the production output from the factory wasn’t significant, which forced owners to shut the manufacturing unit. The biggest biscuit manufacturer in the world, the production was halted at the Vile Parle factory a few weeks back.
