Pick from rare books at an online auction
History buffs can look forward to an exhibition-cum auction of antiquarian books by StoryLTD.com. With 51 lots featuring books, the auction offers a glimpse of India between 17th and 20th century from the eyes of foreign authors. The auction is estimated to fetch Rs 1.2-1.4 crores.

Authored by Emily Eden, the book offers vivid portraits and rich illustrations of Indian rulers and their families. The image (right) is of Raja Heera Singh, son of Raja Dhyan Singh, a principal chief of the powerful Rajput ‘Jammu Family’ of Dogras. Raja Heera Singh was a personal favourite of Ranjit Singh, founder of the Sikh Empire.
